Rocío Pérez Vallejo (Mexico city 1980)
New Media artist, graduated with honors as Bachelor of Arts in Mexico presenting a thesis about Synesthesia.
In 2008 she receives a prize from the Akvarellmuseet in the Västra Götaland Region in Sweden. The same year she is invited to participate in the project 7Note from the Cremona municipality, showing her work and giving lectures around Italy, mostly in the Lombardy region.
In 2009 she wins the First Prize as Emerging Artist in the city of Genivolta, Italy.
In 2011 se graduated from the Master in New Media Art at renowned Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan receiving the Prize of Excellence from Milan International Network of Design and Brera Academy.
Rocio's work is characterized by transmediality she often uses found objects and site specific materials, usually things that already have a history...suitcases, dolls, old fabric and natural elements reinterpreted by new technologies.
In the last years she is approaching to New Media developing projects that look forward the rescue of memory and tradition, involving sound and image as interaction resources.
Her works have been shown in Mexico, Sweden, Italy, Germany and China.
